BSL Support Assistants – Further Education

We’re currently recruiting experienced and enthusiastic BSL Support Assistants to join further education settings across London from September.
This rewarding role involves supporting Deaf or hearing-impaired students in lessons and around campus using British Sign Language, helping to ensure equal access to learning and full participation in college life.
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and in-class communication support
• Translate spoken English into British Sign Language (BSL)
• Support learners in accessing course content and college services
• Collaborate with teaching and support staff to tailor learning strategies

What we’re looking for:

• Proficiency in BSL (minimum Level 2, ideally Level 3 or above)
• Experience supporting Deaf learners in education or youth settings
• A positive, patient and inclusive approach
• A valid DBS (or willingness to apply)
