Building Control Officer

We are currently supporting a Local Authority in their search for an Interim Principal Building Control Surveyor to provide part-time support on a fully remote basis, with occasional site visits to Peterborough.

Principal Building Control Surveyor

Start Date: ASAP

Commitment: 2 days per week (15 hours)

Rate: £80 per hour (Outside IR35)

Location: Remote with occasional onsite work in Peterborough

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations and standards
• Review plans, specifications, photographic evidence, and inspection records
• Carry out remote assessments of building project documentation
• Produce detailed reports and provide expert recommendations
• Collaborate with project teams to maintain compliance and quality standards

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of current building regulations, health & safety, and licensing legislation
• Experience in private sector building control
• Class 2 Validation registration with the Building Safety Regulator
