Building Control Surveyor

Location: SolihullContract: Initial 3-Month Contract (with potential extension)

Hays is proud to be working in partnership with a respected local council to recruit a Building Control Surveyor to support their team during a period of increased workload across the region.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional who is registered as at least a Class 2B/F with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess applications for compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.
• Conduct site inspections, documenting findings accurately and professionally.
• Provide pre-application and general advice on building matters to clients.
• Undertake enforcement duties, including evidence collection, report writing, issuing formal notices, and preparing cases for prosecution.
• Investigate contraventions and advise on appropriate enforcement actions.
• Manage dangerous or dilapidated structures, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Maintain strong client relationships to promote the service and ensure satisfaction.
• Perform other relevant duties as required.

Ideal Candidate:

• BSR registered (minimum Class 2B/F).
• Proven experience in Building Control within a local authority or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of Building Regulations and enforcement procedures.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
