Job Description - Business Analyst

Job Title: Business Analyst (Contract)

Location: London / Hybrid (London or Staines-upon-Thames)

Contract Type: Outside IR35

Contract Duration: 2 months contract, Rate - 375-400 outside IR 35

Start Date: ASAP

Sector: Public Sector (previous government experience preferred)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a transformation programme within the public sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gathering business requirements, documenting existing processes, and developing user stories that support digital delivery.

This is a hybrid role with occasional on-site meetings in London or Staines-upon-Thames.

Essential Skills and Experience

Minimum of 7 years’ experience gathering business and user requirements from a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong track record in converting business requirements into clear, actionable user stories
Experience analysing existing systems and business processes and producing supporting documentation
Proven ability to support the development of Target Operating Models (TOMs)
Able to act as the subject matter expert for user story development within the delivery team.

Desirable Skills and Experience

Experience in coaching, mentoring, or leading other Business Analysts
Knowledge of improving business processes, particularly in data transfer between IT systems
Previous experience working in or with the education sector
