Role Overview

We are looking for a strong Investigative Business Analyst to analyse existing systems, processes, and data pipelines to understand the current (“as -is”) landscape and define clear, structured requirements for future improvements.

This role requires strong analytical capability, stakeholder engagement skills, and experience working in Agile digital environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct investigative analysis into current systems, processes, and data pipelines to understand the “as -is” state
  

• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and hidden dependencies across systems and workflows
  

• Work closely with stakeholders to validate requirements and align to business priorities
  

• Elicit, analyse, and document requirements including user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and process flows
  

• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions with business and technical teams
  

• Collaborate with Product Owners to prioritise backlogs and refine requirements
  

• Produce structured documentation to support delivery, governance, and decision -making
  

• Ensure compliance with data protection and governance standards (e.g., GDPR, DPIA, RBAC)
  

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate business outcomes
  

• Continuously identify opportunities to simplify and improve processes
  

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong investigative and analytical skills with the ability to deep -dive into complex environments
  

• Experience documenting as -is and to -be processes, data flows, and system dependencies
  

• Proven Agile business analysis experience, including writing user stories and acceptance criteria
  

• Experience working on data -driven projects alongside data engineering or analytics teams
  

• Prior experience in the public sector digital domain (highly desirable)
  

• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
  

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information
