Job Description - Business Development & Project Manager - London
dtubb
You're stepping into the heart of a commercially driven team within a global maritime organisation. While an industry trade body, their day-to-day is fast, varied, and pragmatic. You’ll be the face of the association during a 12-month period, covering maternity leave.
It’s for someone confident in a room full of maritime industry veterans, persuasive with senior stakeholders, and structured in managing a wide-ranging commercial workload across multiple platforms and projects.
You’ll report to the Commercial Director, working in a team of five, seeking high standards and a proactive mindset as they generate the income for the organisation
Key Responsibilities
Leading business development projects across digital and membership channels, from planning through to post-launch performance.
Owning relationships with industry stakeholders, members, and partners, maintaining high standards of engagement and commercial value.
Managing the performance of digital products and services, reviewing processes, and working cross-functionally to deliver improvements.
This is a Business Development and Project Management role for someone who:
Can be credible enough to present to board-level figures one day, and handle logistics at a live event the next.
Work autonomously. Some days are meeting-heavy; others are back-to-back priorities where structure and judgment count.
Interpret technology and process changes and translate them into clear, valuable propositions tailored to your specific audience.
Maritime knowledge is essential. You’ll need to have worked in or with a maritime business recently enough and you’ll be confident with the basics.
This is a position that offers autonomy and allows you to be innovative. You will be the person others trust to step in, speak clearly, deliver outcomes, and keep commercial objectives moving forward.
Summary of Position:
Lead and deliver business development projects from concept to completion.
Maintain and grow commercial channels, including revenue ownership.
Represent the organisation externally, with senior stakeholders and at events.
Summary of Requirements:
Minimum of one year’s recent experience in the maritime sector.
Proven stakeholder engagement experience, ideally across senior levels.
Confident handling of digital tools, processes, and new technologies.
Existing entitlement to live and work in the United Kingdom.
Sustainable, commutable distance to London for three days per week minimum.
