What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in bridging business needs and technology solutions-particularly where API integrations and complex system interactions are involved. You'll work cross-functionally with business stakeholders, developers, and product owners to define, validate, and deliver solutions that align with regulatory standards and business strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

• Gathering and analysing detailed business and systems requirements, particularly for API-based integrations.
• Translating business needs into functional and technical specifications that support complex enterprise systems.
• Collaborating closely with software engineers and architecture teams to shape end-to-end solutions.
• Mapping how systems interact across business functions, with an emphasis on efficient, secure data exchange.
• Leading impact assessments, cost/benefit analysis, and re-engineering of business processes for greater performance and compliance.
• Writing and executing test plans (integration, system, and UAT), ensuring solution integrity and business alignment.
• Supporting Agile ceremonies and backlogs (SAFe Agile, Jira/Rally).
• Championing best practices across solution design, documentation, and user training.

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you should bring a balance of technical systems knowledge, particularly around APIs, and strong stakeholder communication skills.

You will need:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst in a financial services, payments, or fintech environment.
• Strong knowledge of API-based systems (REST, JSON, XML) and how to document and validate API requirements.
• Familiarity with tools like Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or similar for API analysis and testing.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies (SAFe preferred) and tools like Jira or Rally.
• Knowledge of systems development life cycles (waterfall, Agile, hybrid).
• Solid understanding of the regulatory/compliance landscape in financial services.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to distil technical complexity into business language.
