Your new role
Hays Procurement are recruiting on an exclusive basis a proactive and detail-oriented temporary Buyer to join a specialist manufacturing business in Scunthorpe. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain and procurement processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and managing stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

• Source and purchase materials and services in line with company requirements.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve the best value.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure timely availability of materials.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand and meet their procurement needs.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in a buyer or procurement role.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

What you'll get in return

• Rate of £16.00 - £19.00 per hour, negotiable, depending on experience.
