Yolk recruitment are working with a leading aerospace organisation looking to bring in an experienced Buyer with strong knowledge of aluminium, extrusions, and complex supply chains. This is a high-impact role managing strategic relationships, overseeing contract management, and driving performance across an international supplier base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage strategic aluminium (extrusion) suppliers across a global supply base

• Lead or support multi-functional project teams, ensuring delivery across time, cost, and quality

• Run full-cycle contract management including supplier selection, tender processes, negotiations, and change control

• Oversee the end-to-end Aluminium ConBid process, including demand monitoring, allocation optimisation, and risk mitigation

• Act as a key link between engineering, commercial, and procurement teams

• Conduct supplier reviews and participate in development plans to drive performance and efficiency

Essential Experience Required:

• Background in buying or supply chain management, ideally within a complex or engineering-led environment

• Strong technical understanding of aluminium, metals, or materials, with confidence in reading and interpreting specifications

• Experience working with international suppliers and navigating global procurement challenges

• Proficient in SAP, particularly in managing supplier or procurement data

• Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders across complex organisational structures

• Solid contract management experience, including tendering, negotiations, and compliance
