CAD Designer

Zenith People are currently seeking an experienced Contract CAD Designer to support our client with a range of structural metalwork projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for bespoke metal staircases, steel walkways, platforms, handrails, and structural frames used in industrial and commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed fabrication and installation drawings for steel structures including staircases, walkways, and frames.
• Work closely with project engineers and fabricators to ensure designs meet client specifications and structural requirements.
• Amend and revise drawings based on feedback from internal teams or client-side engineers.
• Ensure all drawings adhere to relevant industry standards and health & safety regulations.
• Assist in developing design solutions to overcome site or fabrication challenges.
• Maintain documentation and version control throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a CAD Designer/Draughtsperson within the steel fabrication or structural metalwork industry.
• Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Advance Steel, or Tekla Structures).
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials (mild steel, stainless, etc.), and industry best practices.
• Experience designing staircases, platforms, balustrades, walkways, and structural frames.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
