Job Description - Campus Liaison Officer

  • Pay: £17.5 per hour
  • Location: East London
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Join our client's dynamic team as a Campus Liaison Officer. This pivotal role focuses on delivering high-quality customer care and maintaining exemplary standards of conduct within the college environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing critical policies, supporting disciplinary actions, and actively participating in college events.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver exceptional customer care and service, ensuring maintenance of behaviour standards in line with expectations for "at risk" support.
  • Uphold and enforce values and standards in communal areas, reporting and actioning any concerns.
  • Lead on the implementation of critical incident and student behaviour policies.
  • Support during disciplinary investigations and ensure effective communication between key teams such as security, safeguarding, and senior management.
  • Attend and contribute to course team and safeguarding meetings, sharing insights on local themes and trends.
  • Actively participate in enrolment, open days, marketing events, parents’ evenings, and induction programmes.
  • Engage and support students not meeting performance standards and identify those requiring additional support, referring them to appropriate services.
  • Liaise with parents/carers, welfare teams, and external agencies to facilitate external care and support.
  • Assist in improving student attendance and engagement across various programs.
  • Serve as part of the safeguarding team, liaising with managers to ensure student safety.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualifications in English and Maths at GCSE grade C/4 or above, or equivalent Functional Skills at Level 2.
  • Coaching, mentoring, or youth worker qualification at Level 3 or above (desirable).
  • Initial teaching qualification, e.g., Award in Education and Training.
  • IAG qualification at Level 2 (desirable).
  • Experience working with young people in an FE sector or similar setting.
  • Ability to engage young people/adults in challenging circumstances.
  • Knowledge of Behaviour for Learning strategies and safeguarding protocols.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office, MS Teams, SharePoint, and VLE platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with colleagues, students, and external agencies.
