Venn Group are supporting in the recruitment of an interim Finance Business Partner to provide strategic financial advice and support across key service areas within a local authority setting. This role is integral to driving financial efficiency and ensuring robust financial management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a business partner to allocated service areas, offering financial advice on budgeting and forecasting
• Lead financial analysis, budget monitoring, and statutory returns
• Provide expertise in capital, treasury, and collection fund accounting
• Support commercial initiatives and business case development
• Liaise with internal and external auditors, preparing reports and returns
• Promote good financial management practices and deliver finance-related training

Key Requirements:

• Extensive local authority finance experience, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Expertise in capital, treasury, and collection fund accounting
• Knowledge of public sector financial regulations and frameworks
• Strong communication skills, with experience in liaising across departments and with auditors
