About the Role: Service Care Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a leading police force for a qualified Finance Business Partner to play a pivotal role in delivering robust financial oversight and strategic guidance across capital projects. The role is a hybrid position, with 1–2 days per week in the office (Wednesdays required). The first week will be fully office-based to ensure a strong induction into systems and processes.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the financial management of high-value, strategic capital projects—contributing to improved service delivery and value for money across policing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive monthly project reporting to business units, governance boards, and corporate finance.
Collaborate with Project Managers to maintain robust financial forecasting and capital planning.
Lead on the financial sign-off and assurance of business cases to ensure value-for-money investment decisions.
Own and manage the Fixed Asset Register to support year-end close and compliance with accounting standards.
Develop and maintain the Medium-Term Capital Plan (MTCP) aligned with strategic policing objectives.
Lead on the development, communication, and training of capital policies and project-related financial procedures.
Act as primary liaison for external audit queries related to capital and project expenditure.
Support procurement and commercial activities, ensuring contracts represent value for money.
Support scenario planning, forecasting, and risk analysis using advanced Excel modelling.
About You:Essential Criteria:
Fully qualified accountant (CCAB, ACCA, or equivalent).
Experience working in a business partnering capacity (70–80% of the role).
Proven experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and capital accounting.
Excellent Excel and data analysis skills; experience in scenario modelling and risk forecasting.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills—particularly in presenting at governance level.
Experience working alongside IT departments or within tech-heavy project environments.
Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Desirable:
Previous experience within policing or wider public sector organisations.
Familiarity with project and capital funding within large, complex organisations.
