Capital Projects Manager

Teqniq is searching for a Capital Projects Manager to work in the public sector.

36 hours per week.

9 months contract.

Job Description:

Lead and be responsible for the successful delivery of individual projects within the Workplace’s Corporate Capital Programme, from inception to completion.

Lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams delivering capital projects of varying size from minor to major across various service areas.

Responsibilities:

The postholder will have lead responsibility and accountability for the following:

Lead and manage external professionals in the successful delivery of individual capital projects.

Work closely with Directorate staff to ensure a cohesive, integrated approach to project delivery.

Contribute to ensuring that property database systems are updated with the relevant property-based information in a timely fashion, following the completion of capital projects.

Work with the Capital Programme Manager on the procurement of feasibility studies, surveys and costs for individual project schemes.

Lead on individual schemes from inception to completion, including leading the procurement process, commercial negotiations, contract documentation sign-off and contract close procedures.

Ensure that the workplace's contractual and financial obligations within building contracts are met in accordance with the capital delivery strategy, kept under review with robust systems to ensure that changes to the scope of services are mitigated.

Ensure that the capital governance process is adhered to and that capital projects are effectively monitored.

Take responsibility for ensuring individual project reporting structures are followed.

Manage a communication strategy within individual schemes being delivered by the team as part of the Capital Programme.
