We are seeking a dynamic Care Group General Manager to lead our Specialist Medicine Care Group at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working alongside the Clinical Director and Head of Nursing, you’ll be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred services while meeting operational, financial and performance targets.

This pivotal role requires strong leadership, strategic vision, and the ability to drive transformational change across clinical services. You’ll play a key role in shaping future models of care for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly as part of our ambitious transformation programme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the operational and financial management of the Specialist Medicine Care Group
• Deliver against national/local access targets, quality standards and CIP plans
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and staff engagement
• Drive cross-organisational service transformation aligned with 7-day working models
• Represent the Care Group across the Trust and wider system

About You:

• Educated to degree level with postgraduate or equivalent senior management experience
• Proven success in leading multi-disciplinary teams within a complex NHS or public sector environment
• Strong performance, budgetary, and strategic planning skills
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Resilient, innovative and quality-focused with a passion for improving patient care

Desirable:

Experience in 2WW Cancer Pathways, RTT, or Endoscopy services
