Job Title: Caretaker
Location: London Borough of Harrow - Forward Drive, Harrow, Middlesex, HA3 8NT, and surrounding areas
Duration: Temporary - ongoing
Salary: £16.19 PAYE per hour

Role Overview:
The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a responsible and proactive Caretaker to support the maintenance and upkeep of premises. This role involves carrying out minor repairs, ensuring a clean and secure environment, and assisting with general site maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
• Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment across all sites
• Identify, monitor, and report health and safety hazards or maintenance issues
• Oversee security operations, including locking and unlocking buildings when required
• Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts efficiently
• Set up rooms or facilities for events, meetings, and operational needs
• Assist with moving furniture, deliveries, and equipment as necessary
• Perform regular inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in general maintenance and caretaking duties
• Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance requirements
• Physical fitness for manual tasks, including lifting and moving items
• Must hold a valid driving licence and Business Insurance
• Ability to operate a 3.5-tonne vehicle is required for this role

Work Environment:

• May involve working across multiple sites within the London Borough of Harrow
• Requires flexibility, including shift-based working hours
• Fast-paced environment requiring responsiveness to urgent maintenance needs
