Caretaker

Job Title: School Caretaker / Regional Premises Officer Role

Location: Neasden, North West London

To start as soon as possible / Temp to Perm - Full Year Round

Salary: £29.5k to £31.5k per year

We are currently looking for an exceptional candidate to assist the Facilities Department in ensuring that the school site and grounds are maintained in a safe, clean and secure condition. Assisting in the co-ordination and undertaking of tasks necessary for effective site management including porterage, administrative and lettings duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grounds Maintenance: Maintain lawns, shrubbery, trees, hedges, and fencing. Keep outside areas clean and tidy by sweeping, emptying bins, and removing litter.
• Building Maintenance: Maintain and decorate buildings, remove graffiti, and perform routine inspections. Handle minor repairs and advise on major/emergency repairs.
• Daily and Seasonal Tasks: Change light bulbs, clear drains, remove snow, and maintain stocks of salt and sand.
• Deliveries and Furniture: Manage deliveries, move furniture, and set up rooms for events.
• Security: Lock/unlock buildings, respond to alarms, conduct security checks, and monitor CCTV.
• Health and Safety: Comply with regulations, conduct risk assessments, and maintain safety equipment.
• Support and Training: Attend training, assist in training others, and support the Premises Manager with various tasks.
• Record Keeping: Maintain records and assist with site inventories.
