Job Description - Caretaker

Job Title: Temporary Caretaker
Location: Ipswich
Contract Type: Temporary – Approx. 1 Week Cover
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Full-Time 12:00pm – 8:00pm (negotiable)
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
DBS: Valid Enhanced DBS Required

Job Purpose:To provide on-site caretaking support to ensure the smooth, safe, and secure operation of the school premises during a short-term period of staff absence.

Key Responsibilities:

Open and close the school site in line with daily schedule
Set up rooms for exams and other school events
Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs across the school premises
Support with health & safety checks and report any concerns
Monitor and maintain cleanliness and tidiness of external areas
Provide general support to the site and facilities team as required

Person Specification:

Previous caretaking, facilities or maintenance experience preferred
Flexible and reliable with a proactive attitude
Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS certificate
