Caretaker

• Annual Salary: £14 - £15 per hour

• Job Type: Temporary with potential for permanent position
• Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, shift patterns between 7am and 10pm

We are seeking a dedicated Site Assistant/Site Manager to join an independent school in Chelmsford. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the school's facilities. The position is temporary initially, with a strong potential for becoming permanent. Immediate start required.

• Oversee the daily operations of the school site, ensuring all facilities are functioning properly.
• Conduct regular site inspections and coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Manage the site’s security protocols, ensuring a safe environment for students and staff.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of school events and activities.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Manage cleaning, waste disposal, and other site services.

• Experience in facilities management or a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
• Must possess or be willing to apply for a Child Workforce DBS on the update service.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
