Caretaker

We are seeking a dedicated School Caretaker to join the warm and committed staff team at a primary school in Maidstone. This role is crucial in maintaining the safety, security, and upkeep of our school premises. The ideal candidate will be ready to start as soon as possible, working part-time hours on Thursdays and Fridays from 7am to 3pm.

• Open and close the school premises, ensuring that the building is secure.
• Conduct basic repairs and maintenance of the school buildings and grounds.
• Perform cleaning duties and general upkeep to maintain a safe and tidy environment.
• Act as a key holder and manage site operations effectively.
• Handle groundskeeping duties to ensure outdoor areas are well-maintained.
• Manage stock and supplies for the maintenance and cleaning of the school.
• Prepare rooms and facilities for meetings or events as required.
• Ensure the school is prepared and welcoming for staff and pupils each day.

• Experience in caretaking, facilities management, or a similar role.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• A commitment to creating and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming school environment.
• Experience as a key holder is preferable.
