Caretaker G3 Wakefield

• Salary: £12.45 PAYE per hour

We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to manage the upkeep and security of a Community Centre in Wakefield. This role involves a variety of tasks including cleaning, maintenance, and event setup to ensure the safe and presentable condition of the facility.

• Open and close the building, ensuring the security and safety of the premises.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness inside and outside the building, including removing any unauthorised markings and posters.
• Set up and dismantle meeting/event spaces as required.
• Conduct regular checks and maintenance of the heating system to ensure optimal operation.
• Perform simple repairs and maintenance tasks within capabilities, and report any major repair needs.
• Ensure all external areas such as gratings, airbricks, and ventilators are clear and functional.
• Secure the premises after normal use and perform cleaning duties to maintain high standards.
• Replenish consumable items like soap, toilet rolls, and paper towels.
• The role involves working 37 hours per week on a split-shift rota, including weekends and evenings.

• Previous experience in a caretaking or facilities officer role.
• Ability to undertake general repairs, maintenance tasks, and physically demanding duties such as cleaning and manual handling.
• Proficient in using tools and equipment necessary for maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• Desirable qualifications include First Aider and Level 1 & 2 in Cleaning Support Services.
