BRC are working closely with a local authority in South Wales. This role involves carrying out a full range of carpentry and joinery work, including installation, repair, and maintenance of doors, windows, flooring, staircases, skirting boards, kitchen units, and other woodwork.

Duties:

Carry out a full range of carpentry and joinery work, including installation, repair, and maintenance of doors, windows, flooring, staircases, skirting boards, kitchen units, and other woodwork.
Undertake both planned maintenance and responsive repairs in residential and public buildings.
Ensure all works are completed to agreed quality standards, within timescales, and in line with health and safety regulations.
Work effectively on your own initiative and as part of a wider multi-trade maintenance team.
Maintain accurate records of work completed, including materials used and time spent.
Communicate professionally with tenants, service users, and colleagues to minimise disruption and provide excellent customer service.
Use, maintain, and store tools and equipment safely and appropriately.
Follow Local Authority policies and procedures, including safeguarding, equality and diversity, and safe systems of work.

Requirements:

Desirable - Recognised qualification in Carpentry and Joinery (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
Proven experience in a range of carpentry and joinery tasks, ideally within housing or property maintenance.
Good understanding of building regulations, health & safety standards, and safe working practices.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver high-quality work with attention to detail.
Full UK driving licence
Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing workload effectively
