Catering Assistant

Duration: Ad Hoc Cover (Sickness & Holiday Cover)
Rate: £16.83 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Ad hoc)
Shifts: Weekdays only

Early: 6.30am – 2.30pm
Late: 12.30pm – 7.30pm

We’re currently recruiting for a Catering Assistant on behalf of a third-party client to join a small and friendly catering team on an ad hoc basis to provide cover during periods of sickness and annual leave.

This is a craft-based role where you’ll be involved in food preparation as well as general catering duties. Flexibility is key, as the team works closely together and roles often overlap.
Main Duties Include:

Assisting in the preparation of breakfast, soups, hot meals, sandwiches, rolls, and salads
Supporting a small team to cater for around 200 employees on site
Serving customers and handling card payments
Washing dishes and cleaning kitchen equipment
Maintaining general kitchen cleanliness

Essential Skills & Experience:

Professional cookery qualifications
Previous experience in a contract catering environment
Comfortable working in a hands-on, flexible role

Desirable:

Smart appearance and strong customer service skills
Friendly, reliable, and a great team player
Experience working in a customer-facing catering role
