Children's Domestic Abuse Worker

Job Title: Children and Young Persons Outreach Support Worker

Location: Telford TF3

Type: Temporary for approx 2 months

Hourly rate: £15 - 17 per hour

The Organisation:

You will be working for a specialist charity that have supported people for over 50 years to rebuild their lives who have been effected by Domestic Violence or Substance Misuse.

Job Responsibilities:

• Providing support and advice to children and young people, in schools & family centres on a one-to-one basis who have been affected by domestic abuse.
• Engage children and young people in assessing their situation and planning for support and safety, performing a variety of interventions where required.
• Assisting children and young people displaying harmful behaviours to understand positive and healthy relationships
• Communicating effectively with parents / carers

Essential experience:

• Experience working within the Domestic Violence sector
• Sound knowledge and understanding of good practice in safeguarding
• Experience of working with vulnerable and disadvantaged young people
• A commitment to the values of empowerment and equality.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good written/verbal communication skills
• The ability to maintain clear professional boundaries.
• Car driver
• Confident working with a multi agency team
• Clear Enhanced DBS
