Location: Bristol, 2 days per week on site required

Duration: Until December 2025 initially

Rate: £550.00 - £650.00 via umbrella

About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced Senior Virtual Desktop Specialist to deliver and evolve virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) services in a large, complex global environment. You'll be part of an international team focused on building future-ready, cloud-enabled desktop solutions-critical to the digital operations of thousands of users worldwide.

This role is both hands-on and strategic. It involves technical leadership, solution design, and collaboration across multiple regions to ensure high performance, user satisfaction, and alignment with enterprise-wide transformation goals.

What You'll Be Doing

• Drive the development and delivery of the global virtual desktop roadmap
• Design, integrate, and implement VDI solutions aligned with cloud transformation goals
• Deliver robust support services (3rd line) across BAU and project environments
• Collaborate with architects, tech specialists, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and optimisation
• Contribute to reducing technical debt and improving system automation
• Provide consultancy and share expertise across teams and international business units
• Stay ahead of evolving technologies and vendor updates, and incorporate them into strategic planning

• Citrix XenDesktop 7.x and legacy environments
• Citrix Cloud
• Active Directory
• Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows Server (2012R2 to 2022)

Additional Expertise:

• StoreFront, Netscaler, and other Citrix ecosystem tools
• VMware ESX, Microsoft Azure
• Ivanti Appsense
• SCCM, Intune
• PowerShell scripting in VDI environments
• Agile/Scrum experience (nice to have)
