Civil Enforcement Officer

An opportunity to work within Parking Services, enforcing parking regulations and contributing to the smooth running of street management.

About the Role

• Enforce parking, waiting, and loading restrictions across on-street and off-street locations.
• Issue Penalty Charge Notices using handheld computers or manual tickets.
• Issue warning notices and information leaflets to parked vehicles.
• Monitor and report on the condition of parking signs and road markings.
• Provide polite, firm, and fair customer service to the public.
• Maintain accurate records of enforcement actions.
• Assist in the training of new enforcement officers.
• Operate within a scheduled rota covering early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and occasional Sundays.
• Perform camera enforcement duties using approved CCTV equipment.
• Drive council vehicles as part of enforcement activities.

About You

• Knowledge of parking regulations and Road Traffic Legislation (or willingness to learn).
• Ability to deal calmly and professionally with challenging situations.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Confident using handheld technology.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full clean UK driving licence and able to pass a driving assessment.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Physically able to walk an average of 10+ miles per shift.
