?? EXPERIENCED GROUNDWORKER REQUIREDSpecialist Infrastructure Project - Bermondsey, LondonPertemps is recruiting on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor for an experienced Groundworker to work on a specialist project in Bermondsey, London.
?? PROJECT OVERVIEWDuration: 21st July - 25th July (Approximate) - More Projects to Follow
Location: Bermondsey, London - Near Underground Station
Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Project Type: Infrastructure Replacement and Barrier Installation
?? KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPrimary Groundworks Activities:

Excavation Work: Digging trenches, foundations, and general excavation operations
Concrete Operations: Mixing, pouring, and finishing concrete work
Backfilling & Compaction: Professional backfilling and ground compaction to specification
Site Preparation: Ground preparation, leveling, and surface works
Utility Awareness: Working safely around buried services and utilities
General Construction: Supporting various construction activities and trades

Working Environment:

Various ground conditions and weather environments
Operating around utilities with strict safety protocols
Urban construction constraints and site limitations
Coordination with other trades and site personnel

? ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTSCertifications Required:

Valid CSCS Card
NRSWA StreetWorks Certification
All relevant groundworks certifications

Mandatory Health & Safety Certificates:

Asbestos Awareness
Environmental Awareness
First Aid
Manual Handling
RF Awareness
Abrasive Wheels
Basic Fire Safety Awareness
Locate Utility Services

? EXPERIENCE NEEDEDSpecialist Skills Required:

Concrete Works: Proven experience in reinforced concrete pad construction and foundation work
Trial Pit Expertise: Demonstrated skills in trial pit excavation and ground investigation
Service Avoidance: Essential experience working around HV cables and buried utilities
Backfilling Proficiency: Professional backfilling and compaction to industry standards
Challenging Conditions: Background working in subsidence-affected areas and unstable ground
Urban Construction: Experience with London construction constraints and regulations
Multi-Trade Coordination: Ability to work alongside other contractors and utility companies
