Job Description - Civilian Investigator

Job Title: Civilian Investigator – PIP Level 2
Location: St. Asaph / Llay / Colwyn Bay
Contract: Fixed Term – 6 Months
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Office Hours
Rate: £18.41 PAYE / £23.95 Umbrella

About the Role:
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Civilian Investigator to join the Amethyst Team (Crime Services) within a regional police force in North Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to serious and complex investigations and make a real impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct prompt and efficient investigations into serious and complex crimes.

  • Take written and video-recorded statements from victims and witnesses.

  • Assist in suspect interviews and digital/forensic evidence applications.

  • Identify vulnerabilities and ensure appropriate support and regular updates are provided.

  • Collate and analyse documentary evidence, complete case files and investigation reports.

  • Present evidence in court and maintain records using internal police systems.

  • Work closely with supervising officers to carry out further investigative enquiries.

Essential Requirements:

  • PIP Level 2 Accreditation (mandatory).

  • HNC or equivalent qualification, or extensive investigative experience.

  • Background in file preparation and conducting interviews.

  • Working knowledge of criminal law and police procedures.

  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Full UK Driving Licence – ability to travel across North Wales.

  • Motivated, self-disciplined and able to manage own caseload.

  • Must meet Level 2 Spoken Welsh requirements (training can be provided).
