Job Description - Class 2

IMMEDIATE START 30/05/25- until 13/06/25 - An extablished business looking for a Class 2 Steel delviery driver with the role involving metalwork and strapping, involving delivering palletized steel or metal products using a Class 2 (rigid) truck. This includes tasks like loading and securing loads, checking routes, completing paperwork, and liaising with customers. Monday to Friday 8am- 4pm, depending on the route.

Responsibilities of a Class 2 Metalwork and Strapping Driver:

Driving:
Operating a Class 2 rigid truck (Cat C) for local and domestic deliveries, typically carrying up to 32 tonnes.
Loading and Securing:
Loading and securely strapping metal products onto the truck, ensuring safe transportation. - previous experience is essential.
Route Planning:
Checking routes for restrictions, road works, and traffic, potentially with the help of route planners.
Paperwork:
Completing required paperwork for deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and other tasks.
Customer Interaction:
Liaising with customers about delivery times and handling customer interactions.
Manual Handling:
Assisting with manual handling and loading of materials.

Requirements for the Role:

Valid Class 2 (Cat C) Licence - no more than 6 points on licence
Digital Tachograph Card - no more than 6 infrigements
CPC Qualification
Experience: Experience with Class 2 vehicles and strapping loads is essential.
Physical Capabilities: The ability to lift and carry materials, as well as operate hiab cranes.
Good Customer Service Skills: Required for interacting with customers and site personnel.
