Commercial Contracts Lawyer

Service Care Legal are working on a great opportunity for an experienced Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join a well-regarded local authority legal team on a n initial 3 month contract. ROLE:                  Commercial Contracts Lawyer
RATE:                   £50.00 to £55.00 per hour LTD (£48.46 PAYE inc., £43.24ph PAYE exc.)
LOCATION:         North West London
CONTRACT:        3 months with possibility of extension

Please note that this role is hybrid with 2 days per week in office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a full caseload of commercial contracts and procurement matters.
• Draft and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including construction and service contracts.
• Provide legal advice on contract disputes and public procurement issues.
• Support multidisciplinary corporate projects, offering advice on governance and legal risk.
• Advise senior officers and elected members on a variety of legal and regulatory matters.
• Handle data protection and FOI matters in relation to contracts and general governance.

About You:

• Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) in England & Wales with a current practising certificate.
• Previous experience working within a local government legal team is essential.
• Strong background in commercial contracts, procurement law, and public sector governance.
• Familiarity with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
• Comfortable managing a varied caseload and providing clear advice to senior stakeholders.
• Able to attend the office 2 days per week as part of a hybrid working arrangement.
