Commercial Contracts Principal Lawyer – Midlands – £65 per hour umbrella – Office Presence Required – Initial 6+ months

Venn Group’s specialist legal team is currently working with a well-established Local Authority in the Midlands to recruit a Commercial Contracts Principal Lawyer. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Lawyer to take on a leadership role within a supportive legal team.

The Role:
Position: Commercial Contracts Principal Lawyer
Rate: £67 per hour umbrella
Duration: Initial 6 months with the likelihood of extension
Location: Weekly office attendance desired but can be flexible for the right candidate, hybrid working
Hours: Full Time

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and provide leadership to a small team of lawyers within the Commercial Contracts function
• Handle a reduced personal caseload of commercial matters, including commercial, procurement and property contracts
• Deliver high-quality legal and strategic advice to support the Council’s objectives

About You:
• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with strong experience in commercial contracts
• Demonstrable leadership and management skills within a legal team
• Previous local government or wider public sector experience is essential
