Locum Commercial Property Lawyer – Local Authority in the South East – Remote – Full Time
Venn Group is working with a well-regarded local authority in the South East in their search for a Commercial Property Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3-month contract.

Details:

Job Title: Commercial Property Lawyer

Hourly Rate: £55 to £65 umbrella per hour (flexible for the right candidate)

Length of Contract: 3 months initially, with strong potential for extension

Working Pattern: Full-time – 36 hours per week

Location: Local Authority in the South East

Remote working

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Advise on a broad range of commercial property matters, including leases, licences, acquisitions, disposals, and landlord/tenant work
• Act as the sole commercial property lawyer, providing expert advice across the authority
• Support the council's regeneration and asset management programmes
• Draft and negotiate a range of complex property documents
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and provide pragmatic legal solutions

Preferred Experience:

• Extensive experience in commercial property law, ideally within the public sector
• Strong drafting, negotiating, and communication skills
• Ability to manage a full caseload independently
• Understanding of public sector governance and procurement frameworks
• Comfortable working remotely in a fast-paced environment
