Southwest Local Authority
Rate: £50-£60 per hour - Negotiable DOE
Contract: 3-6 months - with view to extend

Remote Working - occasional office attendance required

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Commercial Property Solicitor on behalf of a local authority in the southwest region. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of one of the UK's most forward-thinking cities, providing legal support for a wide range of impactful property transactions. The successful candidate will work on a complex and high-profile commercial property caseload, spanning the full range of property matters, including leases, acquisitions, disposals, overage, and development agreements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of complex commercial property matters.
• Draft, negotiate and advise on property agreements and transactions.
• Represent the Council in negotiations, committees, panels, and tribunals.
• Assist with mentoring and supervising junior legal staff.

Key Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX with the ability to deliver high-quality legal services in a fast-paced local authority environment.
• Demonstrable experience in handling complex property legal issues.
• Knowledge of commercial property and local government law
• Experience supporting and mentoring junior staff
