Community Energy Engagement Officer

Hays is collaborating with a local council to recruit a Community Energy Engagement Officer. This new role is designed to enhance a current project by leading community engagement for community energy initiatives in the West Midlands and creating an online resource hub to provide critical information to community groups.

Key Responsibilities:

• Community Engagement: Act as the first point of contact for community groups in the West Midlands, answering questions and providing guidance on energy projects.
• Market Engagement: Lead market engagement within the community, run events, and engage with community groups about upcoming support services for community energy projects from the council.
• Resource Hub Management: Create and manage an online resource hub for community energy projects, including guidance on procuring suppliers, project management, and high-level technical support.
• Knowledge Maintenance: Maintain a strong understanding of the community energy landscape at national, regional, and local levels, including GB energy and the local power plan.
  
  Ideal Candidate:

• Relationship Building: Maintain strong collaborative relationships with community groups, strategic partners, delivery partners, local authorities, and other key stakeholders, ensuring commitments are met and expectations are exceeded.
• Advocacy: Serve as an external advocate and representative of Energy Capital and the council at stakeholder meetings, building relationships and promoting the work of Energy Capital with community groups, local authority officers, housing associations, contractors, and other stakeholders.
