Job Description - Community Psychiatric Nurse

Job Advert: Community Psychiatric Nurse – Salisbury (Band 6)
Location: Salisbury
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Contract Type: Temporary Agency Contract (NHS)
Rate: Competitive, depending on experience

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse to work within the NHS in Salisbury. This is a full-time agency position on a temporary contract, offering the opportunity to contribute to frontline mental health care in a dynamic and supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments independently, particularly in high-risk scenarios such as self-harm or attempted suicide/homicide, typically within the Emergency Department.
Act swiftly and appropriately in emergency and challenging situations, maintaining professional judgement under pressure.
Develop and implement safe discharge plans while effectively managing associated risks.
Complete clinical documentation accurately and efficiently using RiO.
Support student nurses through mentoring, in line with NMC requirements.
Carry and manage a caseload effectively and autonomously.

Essential Criteria:

NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within an acute general hospital or crisis mental health service.
Proficient in the use of RiO electronic patient record system.
Mentorship qualification.
Strong risk management and crisis intervention skills.
