Community Safety Partnership Manager

HAYS are delighted to be working with Birmingham City Council to recruit an experienced and dynamic Interim Community Safety Partnership Manager to lead and establish partnership arrangements on behalf of the Birmingham Community Safety Partnership (BCSP). The successful candidate will be the single point of contact for a defined geographical or thematic area, ensuring a collaborative approach to addressing community safety priorities.

This role is paying up to £29 per hour and the successful candidate will be based on site in Central Birmingham 2/3 days per week.

The key responsibilities of this role will be:

• Establish and lead partnership arrangements within a defined area or theme, enabling a collaborative approach to community safety priorities.
• Serve as the primary contact for internal and external partnerships within the Community Safety agenda.
• Engage with the BCSP Executive Board to ensure local priorities align with strategic themes identified by the BCSP.
• Advise and direct local and strategic theme partnership groups on the development and delivery of services that impact community safety and crime reduction.
• Liaise with relevant partners (e.g., WM Police, Fire, NHS, Public Health) to obtain and analyse data for local crime and community issues, identify solutions, and monitor performance.
• Assist with the production and delivery of the BCSP's Annual Strategic Assessment, ensuring local and strategic priorities are reflected.
• Support the delivery of statutory duties of the BCSP and Birmingham City Council.
• Identify funding opportunities and manage budgets in accordance with BCC financial regulations.
• Provide training to partners on themes within the CSP agenda and updates on policies and legislation.
• Work as part of a team, ensuring a connection between local delivery and strategic themes.
• Explore new and creative ways to deliver the community safety agenda, incorporating best practices from other local authorities and CSPs.
• Keep up to date with the wider community safety agenda and share learning within the Community Safety Team.
• Establish and maintain effective local partnerships, organise and service meetings, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
• Lead thematic partnerships, support the delivery of the BCSP board, and manage projects and programmes related to community safety.

In order to be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience in community safety, crime reduction, or related fields.
• Strong leadership and partnership management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyse data and develop strategic plans.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., ASB Act 2014, Crime & Disorder Act 1998, Modern Slavery Act 2015).
• Experience in budget management and identifying funding opportunities.
• Ability to provide training and support to partners.
