Contract AI Engineer - GCP - £485/day (Outside IR35)

Please note - this role will require you to attend the London based office two days per week. To be eligible for this role you should have the unrestricted right to work in the UK - this organisation is not able to offer sponsorship.

A leading London-based insurance company is seeking a talented AI Engineer to help shape the future of their cloud and AI capabilities. This is a contract role paying £485 per day, outside IR35, requiring two days per week on-site in Central London.

You'll work closely with the Head of Emerging Technology and Head of Development to evolve the company's GCP environment and apply cutting-edge AI tools to real-world business challenges. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of cloud engineering and AI innovation.

• AI Integration: Leverage emerging Google AI technologies (e.g., Vertex AI, GenAI tools) to develop intelligent solutions that drive business value.
• Cloud Development: Design, build, and optimise scalable systems and services within Google Cloud Platform.
• DevOps Enablement: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure with Terraform, and ensure robust deployment practices.
• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions and deliver high-impact projects.
• Operational Excellence: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise GCP environments for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.

• Proven experience as an AI Engineer or Cloud Engineer working within GCP environments.
• Strong DevOps expertise, including CI/CD, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Hands-on experience with Google AI/ML tools, such as Vertex AI, AutoML, or GenAI APIs.
• Proficiency in Python or similar languages used in AI/ML development.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• Location: Central London (Hybrid - 2 days on-site per week)
• Rate: £485 per day
• IR35 Status: Outside IR35
• Contract Length: Initial 6 months (with potential for extension)
