Contract Manager

A public sector organisation based in London are seeking a Contract Manager to join their Commercial Service department on an initial 6-month contract with a high likelihood for extension beyond this. The role offers hybrid working of 3 days a week on site at their office in the City of London, this role is inside IR35 with a daily rate of £480 to £615 via an Umbrella company - PAYE rates also available..

Purpose of Post - Summary

To oversee and manage corporate and local contracts within the organisations Commercial Service. Those include, and are not limited to, Business Travel, Taxi services, Managed Print, tail spend and related procurement contracts.

• To provide specialist expertise, advice and guidance in relation to the contract portfolio, analysis of market trends, benchmarking and optimising contract performance.
• To develop, lead and drive generate value for money, ensure cost-effectiveness and optimal payment mechanisms in the contracts, and to ensure any responsible procurement commitments are delivered.
• To ensure contractual compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, as well as internal governance requirements.
• To ensure effective contract administration, that all contractual commitments are delivered, SLA’s and KPI’s are monitored and measured.
• To provide effective supplier relationship management working in partnership with the Suppliers.
• To work collaboratively with both Commercial Service colleagues and end users from across the City, to ensure stakeholders are provided with excellent customer service.
• To assist in designing, delivering and embedding a consistent approach to procurement and contract management across the Commercial Service.
• To assist the Strategic Contract Management Lead and Deputy Director of Commercial to shape the contract management delivery model .

Experience

• Professional certification in contract management (e.g. WorldCC, CIPS Level 5 or above, CIPFA or alternative i.e. GCF is preferred. The certification should be at the minimum level of advanced practitioner.
• Experienced in contract management or a related role in Public sector environment
• Strong understanding of Contract law and contractual terms & conditions.
• Experience in contract negotiations, partnering or assisting in contract dispute resolutions.
