Cover Supervisor

Job Summary:

Hays Education is working in partnership with secondary schools across Nottinghamshire to recruit enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain classroom experience or transition into teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise students in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring they remain engaged with pre-set work.
• Maintain classroom discipline and promote a positive learning environment.
• Support a variety of subjects across the curriculum (no subject specialism required).
• Assist with small group interventions, including SEN support or coaching.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding lesson conduct and student behaviour.

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Experience working with young people in an educational or youth setting is desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Flexibility to support different subjects and year groups.
• Professional, reliable, and enthusiastic approach to school life.
