Credit Controller

Are you confident chasing debt, comfortable on the phone and looking for a short-term role where you can make a real impact? We’re working with a well-established business in Southampton that’s looking for a skilled Credit Controller to join the team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. You’ll be stepping into a key role – owning the credit control process and helping to improve cash flow, all while working in a supportive, collaborative finance team. If you enjoy keeping things organised, resolving queries and building good client relationships, this could be the perfect short-term opportunity for you.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Chasing outstanding debt
• Preparing aged debtor reports
• Setting up and monitoring payment plans
• Resolving invoice queries and disputes
• Updating the internal finance system
• Flagging any high-risk debt for escalation
• Liaising with clients and colleagues to keep everything on track

What you will need:

• Experience in a similar role, such as Credit Controller / Credit Control Clerk / Collections Assistant / Debt Collection Agent / Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant / Accounts Receivable Clerk / Sales Ledger Administrator
• Great communication skills - written and verbal
• Solid Excel skills
• A sharp eye for detail
• Previous use of Sage is a bonus but not essential
• Immediate availability
