Job Title: Interim Credit Controller

?? Location: Shropshire (Hybrid options available)
?? Contract: Interim - 3 to 6 months (potential to extend)
?? Rate: Perm equivalent of £29k

About the Role:

We are currently supporting a key client in their recruitment of an experienced Credit Controller to join a dynamic finance team on an interim basis. Based in Shropshire, this role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can hit the ground running.

You'll be responsible for managing the end-to-end credit control process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting the wider finance function during a period of transition and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively chase outstanding debts via phone, email, and written communication
• Monitor customer accounts and ensure timely payments in line with agreed terms
• Resolve invoice and payment queries efficiently and professionally
• Maintain accurate records of all credit control activity
• Reconcile customer accounts and allocate payments
• Produce aged debt reports and provide regular updates to management
• Liaise with internal departments to resolve disputes and improve processes
• Support month-end reporting and audit preparation as required

About You:

• Proven experience in a Credit Control role (ideally within a similar industry)
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Confident working independently and managing a busy ledger
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle)
• Available to start at short notice
