Credit Controller - Immediate Start

We're working with a well-established business based on the outskirts of East Birmingham who are on the lookout for a Credit Controller to join their friendly, high-performing finance team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships and wants to be part of a business that's growing and investing in long-term projects.

This is a temporary to permanent position - the team has just taken on a major new project that will run for at least the next 2-3 years, and they need immediate support to manage the increased workload. The plan is to bring someone in on a temporary basis for the first three months, and then, if everything's working well, move you into a permanent role. So, it's very much a long-term opportunity for the right person!

• Taking full ownership of your ledger, covering a mix of high-volume and national customer accounts
• Chasing outstanding debt across a UK-based customer portfolio, with a focus on phone-based collection and relationship building
• Allocating incoming payments and cash receipts accurately and promptly
• Raising and sending sales invoices and issuing credit notes when needed
• Monitoring aged debt and proactively following up on overdue balances
• Managing complex accounts with multiple payments per month and high-volume transactions
• Running customer statements, payment reports and supporting credit management reviews
• Liaising with commercial and internal teams to resolve customer queries or disputes
• Supporting internal reporting on cash flow and debtor days
• Working independently to keep your accounts up-to-date while being a key part of a supportive finance team

• An experienced Credit Controller with at least 2-3 years in B2B credit control
• Someone who thrives in a relationship-focused environment and enjoys speaking with customers
• Confident managing a smaller number of accounts with large, complex volumes
• A strong communicator who can build rapport quickly but also knows when to get their head down and focus
• Comfortable managing the full credit control process, from raising invoices through to payment allocation and query resolution
• Someone who is available to start immediately or on short notice - we need someone ASAP!
