Data Analyst - Finance

We are currently working with Exeter City Council who are looking to recruit a skilled and experienced Data Analyst – Financial Services to join the team.

Start: ASAP start

Rate: £21.89 per hour (flexible depending on experience), Inside IR35

Duration: 6 weeks

Responsibilities

• Implementation of the new Corporate Performance Framework currently under development
• To work with services across the council to understand their data needs and provide tailored analytical support with the production of appropriate dashboards and reports nested within the Corporate Performance Framework
• Produce clear, accurate reports, dashboards and visualisations using Power BI that can be used by Service Managers, Heads of Service, Strategic Directors, CEO and Councillors as appropriate
• Provide training and guidance to staff and members on data collection, interpretation of, and creation and usage of Power BI reports
• Gather, clean and maintain datasets from various council departments and external sources
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with data strategy, data protection and information governance regulations, standards and guidelines.
• Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement
• Work with data analysts within Strata and the partner councils who make up Strata to share best practice and opportunities for collaboration

Requirements

• Must be able to come and hit the road running and clear a backlog of work
• Local Authority experience is beneficial to this role
