Seeking a hands-on Database Engineer with experience in NewSQL platforms (Yugabyte, CockroachDB) and high-volume OLTP systems. You'll be building a resilient, secure internal DBaaS infrastructure.

This role requires a strong combination of database product knowledge combined with developer skills.

Key responsibilities:
* Design and deploy NewSQL database solutions on on-prem infrastructure
* Build secure, compliant infrastructure with IT Security and platform teams
* Support and optimise Postgres operations and documentation
* Help roll out a scalable DBaaS model across the business

Tech stack & skills:
* NewSQL hands-on experience (Yugabyte or CockroachDB)
* Python development - essential
* Strong knowledge of Linux, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices
* Advanced SQL (ANSI SQL) skills
* Experience architecting high-availability production systems
* Familiarity with security protocols (OAuth, SAML, OpenID, Kerberos, etc.)
* Strong communicator with experience working in agile, globally distributed teams
* Bonus: experience designing monitoring systems and dashboards
