Design Technician

Reed Education is proud to be working in partnership with an 'Outstanding' secondary school to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Design Technology Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking and collaborative faculty within a highly regarded educational setting.

We are seeking a motivated individual who can support the professional work of teachers by assisting with learning activities, demonstrating strong subject knowledge, and providing expert technical support across the Design Technology department.

• Support practical classes by preparing resources, assembling apparatus, and assisting with demonstrations.
• Provide technical advice and support to teachers, support staff, and students.
• Set up and clear away equipment, maintain stock levels, and ensure resources are well-organized.
• Conduct routine and non-routine safety checks, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment.
• Safely store, treat, and dispose of materials in line with COSHH regulations.
• Stay current with best practices and complete relevant training as required.
• Undertake other duties as directed by the Faculty Leader in line with the role.

• Proven experience in a technical support role, ideally within an educational environment.
• Strong knowledge of Design Technology and confidence in handling technical equipment.
• A proactive approach to health and safety, particularly with COSHH compliance.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the department.
