Job Title: Development Engineer
Client: Global engineering & manufacturing client
Location: Peterborough
Hourly Rate: Maximum £35.30ph paye or £46.49 Umbrella
Duration: 12 months
Working arrangements: Monday - Friday full-time onsite

About the Role:

• My client is currently seeking a Development Engineer to join their Component Engineering Base Engine Team as they approach a period of significant investment in new design to meet their ever changing energy landscape.
• This role will be focused on design solutions to address challenging requirements, from projects within New Product Introduction, New Technology or updates to existing platforms for a variety of applications.
• The successful candidate will serve as an experienced contributor on assignments that are complex in nature, working with individuals and teams across global Manufacturing sites, suppliers and customers.

Core Responsibilities

• Execution of Core Engine System validation activities
• New product development technical issue resolution.
• Conducting FMEA on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needs.
• Plan and execute validation tests.
• Conducting component and system design reviews

Key Skills:

• Technical background (HNC or technical degree preferred in mechanical or automotive engineering) though other qualifications or experience are equally valued
• Knowledge in a minimum of one or more of the following Core Engine systems: Rotating Systems, Valvetrain, Castings, Lubrication, Breather and Cooling systems, Bolted joint and sealing experience
• Minimum 3yrs relevant development experience
