This is a contract role that will encompass a range of responsibilities within the Defence and Security domain, specifically supporting DIG - Integration Engineer - Risk & Assurance. Core Responsibilities O/S & Software Build: Build, configure, and integrate Windows Server 2025 and Windows 11 operating systems alongside COTS and bespoke software. Automation & Scripting: Utilise PowerShell to install, configure, and streamline software deployments. Troubleshooting: Perform robust fault-finding and issue resolution within a production environment to successful conclusion. Engineering Best Practices: Adhere to rigorous software engineering practices, conduct peer reviews, and mentor junior engineers within the team. Documentation & Reporting: Produce clear, concise technical documentation and provide regular progress feedback to team leadership. Site Support: Occasional travel to customer MoD locations to support system deployment, investigations, and testing. Technical Skills & Knowledge Essential Criteria: Strong working knowledge of Windows Server 2025 and Windows 11 operating systems. Proven experience with Windows Deployment Tools , Active Directory , and Group Policy . Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automated software installation and configuration. Experience in modern development and engineering practices, including structured testing. Demonstrated capability to author high-quality technical documentation. Desirable Criteria: Experience with Windows image creation and deployment. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing. Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) . SharePoint administration experience. Qualifications: No specific certifications required, though a diploma or degree in an engineering/technical discipline is highly beneficial.
