Role Overview The BVI Tourist Board & Film Commission is seeking a creative, driven, and technically skilled Digital Media Officer for a 5-month contract during a peak promotional period. This role is ideal for someone with a strong visual eye and a passion for storytelling, who can deliver high-impact photo, video, and written content that aligns with the BVI brand and resonates across platforms.
Key campaign focuses include: Tourism Month (November), Anegada Lobster Festival, holiday season travel, and early 2026 inspiration campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Capture, edit, and publish high-quality video, photo, and written content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
Attend and document key tourism events, activations, and site visits, sometimes during evenings and weekends (with advance notice).
Collaborate with the Digital Marketing and Public Relations teams to execute seasonal campaigns (e.g., “Right Here, Right Now,” Staycation, influencer visits).
Edit media using software like CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, and/or Canva.
Support the monthly development of social media calendars aligned with global travel trends.
Engage with online audiences—respond to messages, monitor comments, and highlight user-generated content.
Ensure all content maintains brand tone, visual consistency, and strategic messaging.
Track and report on performance analytics (engagement, reach, impressions) to inform future content planning.
Provide creative input for new content features or campaign ideas.
Deliverables & KPIs (over 5 months)
20+ original photo/video posts per month across multiple accounts
10+ reels or TikToks per month
1 monthly content calendar + performance report
Coverage of 3–5 key tourism events
Creation of 1 original content series concept (e.g., “Hidden Gems,” “BVI Bites,” “Filmed in the BVI”)
Positive growth in engagement, impressions, and community interactions
Candidate Profile
Proven experience in digital content creation, video production, and social media storytelling—preferably within tourism, lifestyle, or hospitality.
Proficient with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, video equipment, and editing tools (Adobe Suite, CapCut, InShot, Canva, etc.).
Familiarity with Hootsuite and Meta Business Suite.
Deep understanding of platform-specific trends and content formats across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Excellent visual storytelling skills—keen eye for lighting, composition, and pacing.
Strong writing and captioning ability; detail-oriented and brand-conscious.
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently or in fast-paced, event-driven environments.
Must have access to reliable transportation and be able to travel between islands.
Flexible with working hours (evenings/weekends with notice).
Passion for the BVI’s tourism product (culture, nature, events, yachting, food, film).
Bonus Skills (Preferred, not required)
Drone operation or experience with drone photography
Motion graphics or animation skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, Film Production, or a related field.
Note: Candidates with an Associate’s degree plus substantial hands-on experience may also be considered.
Experience:
At least 2–3 years of professional experience in digital content creation, video production, and social media management.
Proven track record of producing engaging, high-quality visual and written content for multiple social media platforms.
Event coverage and on-location content capture experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
Primarily office-based with occasional extended hours.
