Director of FP&A

Cedar is supporting a high-growth, Private Equity-backed Consumer brand in the search for an Interim Director of FP&A. This is a newly created role to help the business sharpen its financial insight, strengthen planning rigour, and prepare for an upcoming value event.

The role is offered on an initial 6-month contract, paying £700-£900/day (outside IR35), and is based in Central London with hybrid working (2-3 days per week in office).

Backed by a leading mid-market PE fund, this digitally enabled consumer group has expanded rapidly across multiple international markets. With strong recurring revenues and ambitious growth plans, they are now focused on building a more sophisticated planning and performance capability to support both operational execution and strategic positioning ahead of a potential transaction.

The Role
The Interim Director of FP&A will act as the right hand to the CFO on all commercial finance matters. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can both design and deliver. You'll be responsible for establishing robust forecasting and reporting rhythms, developing insight-led decision support tools, and elevating the quality of board-level MI and investor narrative.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and run the end-to-end FP&A cycle: budgets, forecasts, long-range plans
• Develop scenario models and commercial decision tools across key trading lines
• Design and deliver insightful board packs, dashboards and KPIs
• Act as a true business partner across key functions including Marketing, Sales and Supply Chain
• Lead pricing, margin and promotional analysis to support commercial strategy
• Prepare exit-supportive planning outputs and ensure alignment with investor expectations
• Oversee and, where needed, upskill or mentor junior team members

Your Profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with strong FP&A leadership credentials
• Background in PE-backed, fast-moving consumer or digitally-led businesses
• Track record of building FP&A capability, ideally in a growth or exit-prep context
• Advanced modelling and commercial analysis skills
• Board-facing confidence, with the ability to distil complexity into clear insight
• Day rate of £700-£900/day reflects strong market alignment for experienced interim candidates
