Job Title: Despatch Operative

Temp to possible perm for the right candidate

£25,200 PA

You must have a full driving licence and be over 24 to get on the compnay insurance for driving.

The client will put you through your forklift license.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Despatch Operative to join our busy Despatch Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for packing, preparing, and dispatching products to customers. This role also involves stock handling, documentation, and supporting logistics operations to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pack goods and complete shipping documentation in line with the Shipping Schedule.
• Load and unload shipments, including forklift operation where required.
• Deliver and collect locally manufactured parts.
• Perform reprographics tasks and pick parts to form kits.
• Place received items into stock with appropriate protection to maintain quality.
• Assist in picking electronic and mechanical sub-assembly kits.
• Support stock control activities, including stock-takes and resolving stock issues.
• Assist with goods-inwards processing and external custom part orders.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in line with Health and Safety regulations.
• Carry out additional tasks as reasonably required by the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage personal workload and report progress to the Despatch Supervisor.
• Ensure packaging is suitable and stock levels of packaging materials are maintained.
• Organize stock locations logically with clear identification.
• Maintain accurate and timely reporting of rejects, shortages, and stock movements.
• Adhere to all company procedures and Health and Safety guidelines.

Person Specification:

Essential:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Valid forklift license or they put you on a course.
• Valid driving license.
• Ability to follow formal procedures and work independently or as part of a team.
• Competent in using computers and stock control systems.
• Willingness to learn and operate Despatch and Stores equipment.
